Jeannette Shawl's PledgePage
In July 12-14 of 2002, My daughter, Jessica, took on the challenge of walking the 3-day Avon 60 mile walk to raise funds to combat Breast Cancer.
She has taken on the challenge again, and this time I will join her. On the weekend of June 28-29 2003, I will be joining over 3,000 participants in the Avon San Francisco Breast Cancer Walk. The format has changed this year to a 2-day 39.5 mile walk, and I have a personal goal to raise $2000 in pledges by June 20. If you can help me meet this goal, it would be greatly appreciated. In November of 2001, I was diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer. Because of early detection and good medical care, I am doing fine now. I am well enough to join my daughter in the walk to help fight breast cancer. I am dedicating my 2003 walk to my dear friend Caryn. I know that millions of women in the United States do not have access to regular medical care. The funds raised for this event, will help save the lives of these medically underserved women. Did you know? These are staggering facts, with frightening numbers. The good news is that this is a fight that together, we absolutely can do something about, but I need your help. You know that fundraising can be challenging, but reaching out to help those who will never even know our name is a beautiful example of kindness. |
